LECCE ARREDO Contemporary Art: Design and International Perspectives
A harmonious dialogue between art and design takes shape in the exhibition project of two internationally active organizations: the Italian Primo Piano LivinGallery and the American LarkGallery. A collaborative and immersive journey in which visual languages intertwine to create unique sensory experiences capable of transforming and enhancing spaces. Art, understood as emotional expression and the artist’s vision, becomes a central element in the design of spaces, capable of engaging with architecture and contemporary design. The project is grounded in the principles of balance, harmony, rhythm, proportion, emphasis, contrast, and attention to detail. The result is a sophisticated balance of forms, colors, materials, and textures, designed to “dress” domestic, corporate, and urban spaces with elegance and aesthetic coherence. The collection includes two- and three-dimensional works that range from figurative to abstract, helping to create welcoming, distinctive environments rich in visual appeal. Among the services offered to the public, in addition to the printed catalogue, are software that presents the works in residential and corporate spaces, monitors for indoor and outdoor sculpture projects, and an online catalogue of works for sale on the Artsper e-commerce platform.
Spotlight: Primo Piano LivinGallery, under art direction by Dores Sacquegna, presents a selection of nine artists offering a glimpse into the latest trends in the contemporary art scene. The exhibition opens with two established artists from Puglia: sound designer Giovanni Corvaglia, known for his “Giardino dei Suoni” (Garden of Sounds), who presents both a photographic work and a sound installation that amplifies the perception of space and immerses the visitor in an immersive experience; and Angioletta De Nitto, creator of hyperrealist and minimalist paintings that translate into images of refined elegance. The international dimension is represented by the renowned Dutch artist Nel Ten Wolde (based in Australia), who presents “Stoney Paths,” a layered visual exploration combining painting and collage, and by the Turkish artist Yasemin Yenigün, whose raku ceramics reinterpret a traditional technique in a contemporary key. Completing the exhibition, five American artists contribute to a complex visual dialogue with the works by Bryan Hamilton Chadwick, creative director of an international advertising agency with offices in Toronto, Hong Kong, London, Paris, Amsterdam, and New York, who has received over 175 international awards and major recognition from leading film festivals. On display are a selection of five of the 365 photographs from the series “365 Skies”, the complete production of which will be on display at Palazzo Bembo during the 2026 Venice Biennale. Among the emerging talents are the works with fluid and evocative textures by Fiber artist Dena Haden; the abstract compositions with earthy tones by Sara McKenzie; the nature-oriented research by award-winning photographer Nicole Martinelli; and finally, the paintings by Justine Giordano, inspired by the landscapes and atmospheres of the Mediterranean.
Spotlight: The American LarkGallery, under the direction of her founder Lark Pilinsky, presents thirteen internationally renowned artists alongside a selection of emerging talents, offering a broad overview of contemporary overseas art expression. Among the highlights are works by Pilinsky herself, distinguished by her exploration of abstract landscapes and cosmic patterns, and the surreal paintings by renowned Armenian artist Gabo (Gabriel Manoukian), whose distinctive style has earned him major international recognition, including those awarded by the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum and the Masterpièce Award at the Visionary Art Show Le Temple Des Rêves in Lecce. The evocative dialogue between painting, writing, and music features the work by Julienne Johnson, known in the public collections of the Arab American National Museum, among others, and the works by Laurie Yehia, whose artistic practice focuses on sacred geometry, geometric synchronicities, and the relationship between the material and immaterial dimensions. The exhibition continues with the abstract-figurative paintings by artist and architect Elena Kalman, whose artistic and architectural projects also include installations in urban spaces in New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. Visionary sculpture includes bronze works by Israeli multidisciplinary artist Emil Silbeman, Russian American artist Ella Kogan, and American artist Sandra Cohn, both known for their expressive style capable of narrating universal and human experiences, as well as Russian American artist Ann Krasner, whose Pop Surrealist works populate parks and urban settings. The exhibition is completed by works by Russian American artists Tatiana Yartseva, present with abstract floral pictorial compositions, Austin Lubetkin with his imaginative visions and the “bohemian” works by Victoria Williamson and by Ukrainian American artist Yelena Kimelblat dedicated to the identities between abstract and figurative.
The art project for LECCE ARREDO 2026 presents itself as an immersive and multidisciplinary journey, capable of bringing together different aesthetics and poetics, offering the public an experience that spans dreamlike, cosmic, and symbolic dimensions and reflects on the profound connections between art, nature, and contemporary perception through works with a strong aesthetic and conceptual identity.
