Short Bio
Francesco Arena is an artist and a photographer from Genoa, Italy. He worked for years in the field of art making including site-specific projects; as well as polaroid and photographic series, structure installations that interact with the use of objects, photographs and video projections.
In his work explores the role of images in contemporary society and the possibility of reversing our habits of interpretation. His works are in several public collections such as: Ken Damy Museum of Contemporary Photography, Brescia,Italy; Kunsthistorisches Institut, Archive for Italian Art of the twentieth century, Florence,IT, Museum of Contemporary Art Villa Groce, Genoa,Italy, Collection of Polaroid Corporation, Boston, USA, Care Of / Viafarini, Milan, National Exhibition Quadriennale Arte, Rome and The Museum of New Art (MONA), Detroit, USA.
