ART = LIFE: OR A LIFE LIVED TO ART

Primo Piano Special Projects is an organizer of contemporary art events staged in prestigious venues in Italy and abroad. The art director and curator of Primo Piano is Dores Sacquegna. Primo Piano Special Projects was born after 30 years of experience in the field of art by the director and her team.

1993 – Our story begins in 1993, when Dores and Rose Sacquegna moved from Lecce to Rome, opening the Association Studio D’Arte Creative Art Service Oltre il Segno and collaborating with young artists and  institutions until 2002.

2003 – On January 2003, thanks to their experience gained in Rome and beyond, they returned to Lecce and founded on 17 April the Contemporary Art Gallery Primo Piano LivinGallery s.a.s, together her brother Riccardo. With over 300sqm of surface on the main floor and over 700sqm of solarium, Primo Piano opens its doors inside the nineteenth-century Palazzo Rubichi in the heart of the old city of Lecce. In this context, internationally renowned artists but also young talents were hosted, promoting a dialogue between the visual arts and other disciplines, such as seminars, performances, workshops, video art and cinema reviews, festivals. Among the exhibited artists: Vito Acconci, Living Theater, Hermann Nitsch, Giovanni Albanese, Edoardo Winspeare, Ervin Olaf, Ugo Nespolo, Peter Greenway, Eugenio Recuenco, Matthew Barney, AES + F Group, Grimanesa Amoros, Pam Longobardi, Marthe Keller and more.

2014 – On September 2014, the gallery has been closed as a physical space and has been created Primo Piano LivinGallery /Projects and Services for Culture and Contemporary Art, Cultural Management of  exhibition and art residency in Italy and abroad. Some artists exhibited:   AES + F Group, Grimanesa Amoros, Theo Angeloupolos, Statis Athanasiou, Dimitris Kollatos, Nikos Kornillos, Pam Longobardi, Ulrike Arnold, Richard Ashrowan, Gilles Bruni, Andrea Juan, Studio Smack , Tarshito, Marcel.li Antunez Roca, Silvia De Gennaro, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Jason deCaires Taylor, Louise Bourgeois, Sama Alshaibi, Pey-Chwen Lin, LeoNilde Carabba and more.

Primo Piano is dedicated to actively engaging diverse artists, leaders, audiences, and supporters through our mission of cultivating cultural understanding through the arts. Primo Piano LivinGallery do not have a showroom/gallery but collaborates with institutions  as Palmieri Foundation in Lecce.  Diversity is at the core of our organizational values. In the venue wherePrimo Piano organize exhibitions, its encourage landscape interventions and performances that engage with the local communities.

 

 

2023 – Dores Sacquegna created Primo Piano Special Project and Visionary Art Show department. Our focus is to create proposals for authentic, inspiring and life-enriching experiences while rendering excellent quality services for arts.
