Story of a brand

1993 – Our story begins in 1993, when we were still very young, we moved from Lecce to Rome, opening the Cultural Association Studio D’Arte Creative Art Service Oltre il Segno and collaborating with young artists and great cultural institutions until 2002.

With over 300sqm of surface on the main floor and over 700sqm of solarium, Primo Piano opens its doors inside the nineteenth-century Palazzo Rubichi in the heart of the old city of Lecce. In this context, internationally renowned artists but also young talents were hosted, promoting a dialogue between the visual arts and other disciplines, such as seminars, performances, workshops, video art and cinema reviews, festivals. Among the exhibited artists: Vito Acconci, Living Theater, Hermann Nitsch, Giovanni Albanese, Edoardo Winspeare, Ervin Olaf, Ugo Nespolo, Peter Greenway, Eugenio Recuenco, Matthew Barney, AES + F Group, Grimanesa Amoros, Pam Longobardi, Marthe Keller and others .

Primo Piano is dedicated to actively engaging diverse artists, leaders, audiences, and supporters through our mission of cultivating cultural understanding through the arts.
We do not have a specific and fixed physical space. We are a mobile and fluid reality just like the art we promote and support. We like to change locations, venues continuously, to give our artists the opportunity to continuously compare themselves in various places and exhibition contexts.
Diversity is at the core of our organizational values. Over the years, we have hosted 100’s of artists from over the world.
In the countries where we organize exhibitions, we encourage landscape interventions and performances that engage with the local communities.

In this platform, you will find a large part of our work in Italy and abroad as global art consultancy and production management. Our focus is to create proposals for authentic, inspiring and life-enriching experiences while rendering excellent quality services for arts.

Our numbers:
